摘要: Insect environmental adaptation is a multifaceted phenomenon with profound physiological, ecological, evolutionary, and social implications. This adaptability, shaped by intricate behavioral processes, drives genetic and genomic evolution, influencing how insects interact with their environments and develop survival strategies. Advances in sequencing technologies and the availability of high-quality reference genomes for an increasing number of insects have revolutionized our understanding of the mechanisms underlying their adaptation to environmental changes. In this review, we synthesize recent discoveries on the genomic and genetic mechanisms that govern key traits and phenotypes enabling insects to thrive in dynamic environments. From a genomics perspective, we explore how these adaptations are orchestrated and outline future research directions to uncover the mechanistic basis of insect adaptive evolution. Furthermore, we discuss various genomic techniques and tools currently employed, the challenges faced in this field, and promising research prospects. By providing a comprehensive overview of this rapidly advancing field, we aim to shed light on its potential to unravel the mechanisms behind one of nature's most intriguing phenomena - adaptation.
