摘要: The target of rapamycin (TOR) is a conserved serine/threonine protein kinase in eukaryotes. Numerous studies in yeast and animals have found that TOR kinase senses the status of intracellular nutrients and hormonal signals and participates in the regulation of diseases such as cancer through processes such as protein translation, gene transcription, material metabolism, and autophagy. The medical community has now identified TOR kinase as a key target for the treatment of the aforementioned diseases, conducting research and clinical trials for related drugs. In recent years, studies have found that plant TOR kinase is also involved in sensing plant nutrition and hormonal signals, regulating various growth and development stages from embryogenesis to senescence and death, and participating in the regulation of plant adaptation to abiotic and biotic stresses. Especially in the last five years, research findings on plant TOR kinase have increased exponentially. Therefore, summarizing the latest research progress and the underlying mechanisms of TOR kinase in plants has important guiding significance for improving plant nutrient efficiency and stress adaptation. It can also provide possible theoretical basis and research ideas for the study of human disease treatment based on TOR kinase as a target. This article systematically summarizes the latest research progress on the plant TOR kinase signaling network in the past five years, comprehensively elucidates the functions of plant TOR kinase in regulating plant growth and development, nutrient signaling, and coordinating stress and developmental balance, and conducts in-depth discussions on the deeper research on plant TOR kinase and its potential applications in crop improvement. The article also outlines the potential future applications of the TOR kinase signaling pathway in plant development, nutrient efficiency, and stress resistance.
