Preparation and properties of fiber-based aerogels for efficient acoustic absorption of mid-low frequency

摘要: As knowledge about the dangers of noise pollution expands, a range of sound-absorbing materials are being developed and researched. Nevertheless, the common sound-absorbing materials available demonstrate limited effectiveness in reducing noise at mid-low frequency. Here, a fiber-based aerogel with outstanding sound absorption performance was reported. The fiber-based aerogel consists of a three-dimensional fiber network structure formed by the integration of electrospun ceramic fibers and polyvinyl alcohol aerogel. The integration of fibers and PVA films within aerogels significantly enhances sound absorption properties. Furthermore, MIL-100(Fe) is generated in situ generated in aerogel. Its unique structure of macropore and small pore enables it to exhibit broadband sound absorption properties, particularly within the mid-low frequency range of 160-2000 Hz, resulting in an NRC of 0.70. The superior sound absorption performance of metal-organic frameworks composite fiber-based aerogel materials indicates promising application opportunities in transportation, construction, and other fields.
