摘要: The green slender planthopper (Saccharosydne procerus) is a significant pest for water bamboo (Zizania latifolia), which is an economically important aquatic vegetable cultivated in East Asia for its edible swollen shoot. Despite its agricultural impact, the molecular basis of S. procerus's ecological adaptations remains poorly understood. To address this gap, we assembled the first reference genome of S. procerus at the chromosomal level using ultra-low input PacBio HiFi libraries and Hi-C sequencing. The genome size is 752.84 Mb, with a contig N50 size of 1.88 Mb and scaffold N50 size of 63.55 Mb. A total of 97.52% of assembled sequences were anchored to 14 pseudo-chromosomes, and BUSCO analysis yielded an Insecta completeness score of 94.8%. A total of 24,349 protein-coding genes were annotated and 310.78 Mb repetitive sequences occupying 41.28% of genome were pinpointed. Our study presents the first high-quality genome assembly of S. procerus, laying the foundation for further studies on its genetic characteristics and pest management.
