Ozobryum ogalalense new to Asia - a noteworthy East Asian and North American disjunct species

摘要: The eastern Himalayas are a hot spot of global biodiversity mainly because of their unique geographical location, complex landform and diverse ecological environment that provide a vast living space for plants with different ecological needs. During a short excursion in Tibet in Southwestern China, Ozobryum ogalalense, a species previously only known from several scattered areas in North America, was discovered and its range thereby extended to Asia (China). Brief morphological descriptions, distributional remarks and photographs of O. ogalalense based on the Chinese specimen are provided. The dramatic disjunction of moss species is briefly discussed.
