The effect of different temperatures on the development of the predatory mite Bdella tropica Atyeo (Acari: Bdellidae) with the prey Xenylla longauda Folsom (Collembola: Hypogastruridae)

摘要: The effect of temperature on the development of the predatory mite Bdella tropica Atyeo preying on Xenylla longauda Folsom (Collembola: Hypogastruridae) was examined in the laboratory. The duration of different developmental stages of B. tropica became shorter as the temperature increased from 20 degrees C to 32 degrees C. The optimum development temperature was between 24 degrees C and 28 degrees C. The mite could not complete development at 35 degrees C or 18 degrees C.
