摘要: Nitrate is the most frequent contaminants accessing to groundwater. Nitrate nitrogen from agricultural activities has become the main source of groundwater pollution. From November 2009 to February 2010, using GPS positioning and equidistant uniform distribution methods, water samples were taken from the intensive planting villages and townships of 140 counties of Shandong province and the nitrate content in 548 sampling groundwater wells were analyzed. This sampling method is of great significance to fully access and control the spatial distribution of nitrate in groundwater of Shandong Province. The results show that the average content of sampling nitrate is 17.64 mg/L, which is within the scope of Class III water according to the "National Water Quality Standard" (GB/T1484-93). According to the requirement (NO_3-N < 10 mg/L) of "Drinking Water Health Standards" (GB5749-2006), 48.72% of the samples exceed the standard requirement for nitrate content. Nitrate contaminating groundwater is widespread in Shandong Province, especially in the central and the eastern areas. In 263 samples of drinking water wells, the average nitrate content is 17.19 mg/L, exceeding the maximum allowable value of nitrate nitrogen content in drinking water specified by World Health Organization (WHO), thus not suitable for drinking. The situation of nitrate pollution in groundwater of Shandong Province is not optimistic. Great attention of various departments is called so that measures can be taken to prevent further deterioration of ground water.
