Preparation of the 12-Molybdophosphoric Acid-Layered Double Hydroxides Nanocomposite Hybrid and its Electrocatalytic Reduction of Halate Ions

摘要: Polyoxometalates (POMs) possess an excellent property for electrochemical catalysis. A new hybrid complex containing polyoxometalate anions and layered double hydroxide (LDH) was prepared by assembly of Mg-Al LDH precursors in nitrate form with the 12-molybdophosphoric acid anions [PMo _(12)O _(40)] ~(3-)(PMo _(12)). The properties of the product complexes were characterized by the methods of field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), spectroscopic techniques (UV-vis, FT-IR), elemental analysis (EDS), and electrochemistry. The electrochemical behaviors of the LDH/PMo _(12) film were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The result indicated that the LDH/PMo _(12) nanocomposite films modified electrode exhibited a diffusion-controlled voltammetric feature. The films were able to catalyze the reduction of halate ions (ClO _3 ~-,BrO _3 ~- and IO _3 ~-). Therefore, the prepared nanocomposite films modified electrode had potential application in the electroanalytical field.
