The Performance of Fecal Sludge Fermentation and Net Energy Analysis

摘要: To study the effects of total solids (TS) and temperature on anaerobic digestion of fecal sludge, this study adopted a biochemical methane potential test. Feces with different TS contents (8% and 12%) were studied under mesophilic (37°C) and thermal(55°C) temperatures. This study determined total gas production, organic matter degradation rate, and gas production of digestion unit volatile solids (VS) under different conditions. In addition, the kinetics ofbiogas production and net energy were analyzed. The results indicated that organic removal in each group (Ml, M2, Tl, and T2) was 45.4%, 48.1%, 45.7%, and 48.5%, respectively, and gas production per gram of VS removed was 224, 233, 448, and 366 mL, respectively. The Gompertz model had the bestfit, with the highest average R2 and lowest root mean square error. The net energy usedfor digestion per ton of dry feces in each group was 398, 549, 805, and 771 kWh, respectively.
