EFFECTS OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER INPUT ON HEAVY METAL CONTENT AND SPECIATION IN VEGETABLE AND SOIL

摘要: Long-term application of manure as organic fertilizer results in high levels of heavy metals accumulating in soil and vegetables. We studied the effects of applying organic fertilizer to soil during the cultivation process of Wuta-tsai (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis (L.) Makino var. rosularis Tsen et Lee), and the speciation change of zinc. Different levels of chicken manure were used to look at the effect of heavy metal content and speciation on Wuta-tsai and soil. Using synchrotron radiation technology we determined the proportion of each of the chemical forms of zinc in exposed soils and plants quantitatively. The results show that the optimum amount of chicken manure fertilizer is 3.8 kg.m-2. This quantity increases crop yield while reducing the accumulation of heavy metals in Wuta-tsai.
