Effect of Water Stress on Leaf ABA and Water Use Efficiency of Facilities Potato

摘要: Four treatments, 85% (control), 65%, 45% and 25% of relative soil moisture (RSM) were designed to study the effect of drought stress on leaf ABA and water use efficiency characteristics during the whole growth period of facilities potato with potted method. Results show that: with the increase of soil moisture stress, ABA content in leaves gradually increased during potato tillering period in the range from 25% to 85% RSM. ABA content increased by 33 % at the 25% of RSM. A stomatal conductance showed a decreasing trend during potato tillering stage where the biggest decline from 45% of RSM with a stomatal conductance of 81%, but with the maximum stomatal opening. Among different water treatments, the maximum leaf-air temperature difference value occurred in 45% of RSM with an average higher than the control 2 degrees C. On the other hand, leaf water potential and leaf relative water content gradually declined with the increasing soil water stress. 45% of RSM had the highest water use efficiency among the same time of daily variation with peak value of 1.13 mu mol. mmol(-1) and 1.15 mu mol. mmol(-1) at 12:00 and 18:00, respectively.
