Study on the Evolutionary Analysis Method of the Scientific Research Theme Based on the Semantic Association Network

摘要: This paper proposed an evolutionary analysis method of the scientific research theme based on the semantic association network. At first, we introduced the semantic relation into the co-word network, and established the time-sequencing semantic association network. Secondly, we discovered the core themes of the semantic association networks in all time periods with the text clustering method based on the improved Newman fast algorithm, and drawn the thematic evolution paths, and then recognized and analyzed the thematicevolution phenomenabased on the six defined evolution patterns of scientific research theme. Finally, we predicted the frontier hotspots according to the probability of the subsequent thematic evolution patterns. The experiment based on the English core periodical literature of the hybrid rice field from 1995 to 2012 shows that this method can reveal the thematic evolution phenomena objectively and predicts frontier themes.
