摘要: The growth and development of cotton are seriously affected by drought stress, and transcription factors can regulate the growth, development and stress tolerance of plants. B-BOX (BBX) proteins are a class of zinc finger transcription factors that play key roles in plant development. However, the BBX gene has not been systematically analyzed in cotton. This study systematically identified and analyzed 127 upland cotton BBX (GhBBX) genes. The phylogenetic analysis divided GhBBX genes into five groups, and the structures of the GhBBX genes of each group were basically similar. Many cis-acting elements related to plant stress or the stress response were predicted and analyzed in the promoter of the GhBBX gene. Transcriptome data and qRT-PCR transcriptional analysis showed that the GhBBX gene was differentially expressed in plant materials subjected to drought stress. The expression levels of five BBX genes in the variety Xinluzhong 39 (drought resistance) were higher than those in the variety Xinluzao 26 (drought sensitive). This study provides a theoretical basis for further study of the BBX gene in upland cotton drought resistance research through the systematic analysis of upland cotton BBX gene, which is helpful to cultivate upland cotton with strong drought resistance.
