摘要: Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a complementary solution for fifth generation (5G) heterogeneous mobile networks with the advantages such as high speed transmission and no frequency regulation. This paper proposes and experimentally demonstrates an indoor hybrid system that integrates VLC and WiFi to exploit the advantages of both networks. Downlink VLC channels are proposed to supplement an existing RF channel to mitigate the data traffic bottlenecks in high density environments. The design of joint resource management algorithm is described for the optical wireless network to dynamically allocate network resources to users. Experiments show the system works well with the goal to avoid service disconnections.
