摘要: Methods to trace source habitats and movement of parasitic natural enemies in agroecosystems are limited. This study demonstrates that stable carbon isotope analysis offers a valuable new method for revealing the movement ofMicroplitis mediator(Haliday) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), a larval endoparasitoid ofHelicoverpa armigeraHubner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), between C(3)and C(4)plants. Results indicate thatM. mediatorwith delta C-13 values of lower than -22 parts per thousand originate from a C(3)plant, whereas those with delta C-13 values of higher than -19 parts per thousand develop on a C(4)plant.
