摘要: The indiscriminate application of the neonicotinoid pesticide imidacloprid (IMI) and its residues has threatened non-target organisms and human health, urgently requiring efficient remediation technologies. Photocatalysis technology emerges as a promising solution for IMI degradation in aquatic environments, where polymer carbon nitride (PCN) demonstrates particular potential but still suffers from rapid charge recombination. To address this bottleneck, this study has successfully developed a novel oxygen and cyano group co-modified carbon nitride (OCPCN) that demonstrates significant photocatalytic degradation efficiency for IMI. Oxygen and cyano group modulate the band structure of OCPCN and construct a donor-accepter (D-A) structure that promotes charge transfer. Various characterizations show that the D-A structure significantly improves charge separation efficiency of OCPCN. The IMI degradation kinetic constant of OCPCN (0.0377 min(-1)) is about 10.47 times higher than that of PCN (0.0036 min(-1)). In addition, the anti-interference ability of OCPCN under different water bodies and various environmental factors has been investigated. Experiments and theoretical calculations elucidate the mechanism for the remarkable photocatalytic activity in the OCPCN system and propose the IMI degradation pathway. The toxicity prediction along with fish acute toxicity testing confirms that the OCPCN reaction system can effectively reduce the IMI toxicity. Hopefully, this D-A type PCN and its application in IMI degradation can provide guidance and theoretical support for the rational design of efficient carbon nitride photocatalysts and IMI degradation mechanism.
