摘要: In a wheat breeding line XQ-0508 showing consistent resistance to powdery mildew disease, a recessive gene, designated PmXQ-0508, was identified and mapped to a distal region on chromosome arm 2BS. Of three resistance-associated genes in this region, one encoding a protein kinase was selected as the primary candidate for PmXQ-0508. Ten closely linked DNA markers developed in the study could be used for marker-assisted selection for powdery-mildew resistance in breeding programs.
