摘要: Biogas from anaerobic digester is an important source of renewable energy. The reasons for developing biogas plants are to treat the increasing organic wastes and waste water; to mitigate global warming because methane is a major greenhouse gas with a potential 22 times that of CO2. Biogas solves the energy supply in rural areas, where people traditionally forage for fuel wood in forest. It can also be used to co-generate electricity and heat, prolonging the active hours of the day and enabling the family to engage in social activities or to earn extra income. It solves sanitation problems by taking in human as well as animal manure, improving hygiene and environmental conditions in rural areas. Finally, anaerobic digester not only yields biogas, but also slurry and sludge rich in nutrients, minerals and biologically active compounds that form excellent fertilisers and bio insecticides for crops and/or provide fodder for animals and substrate for mushroom cultivation.
