摘要： The methods of small watershed management and economic development in the middle of Shandong Province were studied. Five kinds of systems that can be used to control water and soil losses were established. They are the systems of hillside management, sloping land management, ditch management, preparation and fertilization of land, and road maintenance. The basic methods of economic development are to adjust land scientifically for the use of agriculture, forest, animal husbandry, and sideline; to spread fruit production and form different fruit production bases; to develop aquatics in mountain areas; to develop vegetable cultivation of sheltered ground; and to spread new burning techniques for the protection of forest and grass vegetation.
