Evaluation of a New Nutrient Management Method in Green House Gas Emission Reduction for Winter Wheat in the North China Plain

摘要: This research evaluates the nutrient management system of Nutrient Expert (NE) in grain yield production and green house gas (GHG) emission for wheat in the North China Plain. Field experiments were conducted to check the yield effects and GHG emission under optimized nutrient management strategies, which provided by the NE system, and a farmers' practices (FP). The results showed that NE strategies significantly reduced N fertilizer input while maintain higher yield than FP. The total GHG emission for NE was about 2328.9 kg CO2 eq/ha, significantly lower than FP, which was about 3943.7 kg CO2 eq/ha. The NE system showed the potential in reducing GHG emission in the North China Plain.
