Effects of Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium Formula on Watermelon Yield and Quality

摘要: Using orthogonal test design, optimal formula of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) in growing watermelon in Hainan, was investigated in this study. The experiment was carried out with 16 formulas to look at their effect on the quality and yield of watermelon. Each formula was composed of one of each primary element (NPK) at different level. Significance was calculated by t-test using SPSS software. When the formula optimized as N3P4K3 (Urea: 517.20 kg/hm(2), Calcium Superphosphate: 750.00 kg/hm(2), Potassium Sulfate: 517.2 kg/hm(2)), it maximally improved the quality and yield of watermelon under this study design.
