摘要: Dof transcription factors comprise a plant-specific family that plays diverse roles in gene regulation of many plant processes. Despite the importance of this family, little information is available in rubber (Hevea brasiliensis), a natural rubber-producing tree of the Euphorbiaceae family. This study presents the first genome-wide analysis of Dof family genes in rubber. The family number of 46 in rubber is comparable to 45 in cassava (Manihot esculenta) and almost twice as 24 in castor (Ricinus communis), another two Euphorbiaceous plants. In contrast to no recent duplicate present in castor, 22 duplicated HbDofs were identified and they were all shown to result from the so-called rho whole-genome duplication (WGD). Despite sharing this recent WGD, comparison revealed species-specific gene loss between rubber and cassava. According to phylogenetic analysis, these genes were divided into nine groups, and 24 orthologous groups (OGs) were also proposed based on comparison of rubber, cassava, castor, arabidopsis, and rice Dofs. Tissue-specific expression profiles of HbDofs were further investigated, supporting expression divergence of HbDof duplicates. Moreover, HbDofs associated with leaf development, ethylene response, and tapping panel dryness were also identified. Results obtained from this study provide valuable information for further studies of Dof genes in rubber and other species.
