摘要: In this study, a spectroscopic method was developed to detect N status in the middle and bottom layers of winter wheat canopy. Correlation between six vegetation indices (VIs) and the combined canopy nitrogen density (CCND) were investigated, and the difference vegetation index (DVI) was selected as an indicator for canopy nitrogen density (CND) estimation in the middle and bottom layers. Models based on the relationship between DVI and CCND were established. The models during wheat elongation stage were calibrated by using the data collected in the validation experiment. There was a good relationship between observed CND and simulated CND in the middle layer. Nitrogen (N) status in the middle layer of winter wheat could be estimated with the models established by DVI and CCND. These results offered a method for early assessing of canopy N status in winter wheat.
