Study of Volatile Compound Contents in a Progeny Issued from Cross between 'Camarosa' and 'Benihoppe'

摘要: The strawberry aroma is one of the most popular fruit flavors. Over 360 different aromatic compounds have been identified. In order to analyze the variability in relative contents of volatile compounds in strawberries, a full-sib progeny which included 40 strawberry individuals from a cross between 'Camarosa' and 'Benihoppe' was characterized. 18 volatile compounds synthesized by the parents and their progenies were identified, and the relative contents of volatiles among individual progeny members to unveil the laws of inheritance of the scent traits in this cross was speculated. Results suggested that parts of the volatile compounds, such as hexyl butanoate, were recessive controls.
