摘要: 'Champion Seedless', formerly named 'Hongbiao Seedless', is a triploid seedless cultivar released in 2003. It was developed by crossing diploid V. vinifera 'Zaohong', an early-ripening seeded cultivar derived from cross 'Muscat Hamburg' x 'Pearl of Csaba', and tetraploid V. vinifera x V. labrusca 'Kyoho', a big-berry seeded cultivar. The agronomical and biological properties, characteristics of bunches and berries, productivity of 'Champion Seedless' were investigated. The vines are very vigorous. They ripen very early in late July in Hebei, China, 30 days earlier than 'Kyoho'. The medium-small, loose bunches weigh 210 g with round, 3.0-g berries. The GA(3) and CPPU treatments are very effective on this genotype for enlarging the size of bunches and berries. The bunches are well-filled, conical, with an average weight of 680 g. The berry is 8.5 g on average, violet-red with medium crisp flesh and 15.5% soluble solid content. It is very productive, yielding 31.5 t/ha. Resistance to diseases was similar to that of 'Kyoho'. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and can-processing with skin-free berries. It performed well both in open-air and protected cultivation. The ploidy level was determined by flow cytometry and chromosome counting.
