SCI-E Based Bibliometrics Analysis on World Sugarcane Research

摘要: This research makes a statistical analysis of SCI-E indexed sugarcane research documents from 1994 and 2012 through the bibliometrics method. These sugarcane documents both from home and abroad include volume, country or area distribution, citation times, subject, language, institute, publication, sponsorship, authors and document type. The results are shown in the following nine aspects. The volumes are growing gradually annually. The countries mainly distribute in USA, Brazil, Australia, India and Canada. The main subjects include agronomy, plant science, applied microbiology, food sci-technology, and agriculture multi discipline. English is the major language applied. The main institutes are University of Sao Paulo, US ministry of Agriculture, State University of Sao Paulo and State University of Florida. The main publications are International Sugar Journal, Bio-resource Technology, and Brazilian Journal of Animal Science. The top three sponsors are State Scientific and Technological Commission of Brazil, Sao Paulo Research Foundation, Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education. The most influential authors are from USA, Brazil and Australia. Articles are the major type of documents. Then the general conditions and trends of sugarcane research are analyzed to provide references to sugarcane researchers and decision makers.
