REGIONAL TRIAL OF SUGARCANE VARIETIES IN FUJIAN PROVINCE

摘要: A regional trial of sugarcane varieties was carried out in six locations in Fujian Province during 2001 and 2002. The results indicated that as compared to Mintang 70-611(CK_1) and Mintang 86-05(CK_2), Mintang 86-2121 and Yuenong 91-854 recorded good performance in cane yield, stability and adaptability, their cane yields were significantly higher than CK_1, and numerically higher than CK_2. The sugar yield of Mintang 86-2121 was 21.82 % higher than CK_1, and 0.41 % higher than CK_2, The sugar yield of Yuenong 91-854 was 12.86 % higher than CK_1, and 6.98 % lower than CK_2. Both the varieties could be demonstrated and expanded further in Fujian Province. The cane yield of Mingtang 93-246 was numerically higher than CK_1, and significantly lower than CK_2, the sugar yield of Mingtang 93-246 was 9.86 % higher than CK_1, and 9.46 % less than CK_2. Mingtang 93-246 will continue be tested in the regional trial. Although varieties Yue C25 and Funong 93-3608 had broad adaptability, but their field stability was not satisfactory in comparison to CK_1 and CK_2, their sugar yield were lower than two checks and therefore these two varieties were not recommended for further expansion in Fujian Province.
