摘要: This study develops a comprehensive industrial competitiveness index for China's oyster industry using the entropy weighting method, integrating three critical indicators: international market share, trade competitiveness index, and revealed comparative advantage index. Through horizontal comparison, the study evaluates China's oyster industry against global competitors based on both oyster-specific metrics and overall importexport performance. By coupling the competitiveness index with an obstacle degree model, the research identifies key factors influencing China's oyster industry competitiveness. The study employs an extended trade gravity model and panel data covering 2003-2022 to empirically analyze how competitiveness, relative advantages with export destinations, and trade-related factors-such as bilateral economic scales-affect export flows. Empirical analysis and survey results indicate that while China has established a notable market share and competitive position, its overall competitiveness remains considerably behind leading global producers. Factors including consumer purchasing power, production scale, and import dependency in destination countries positively influence China's oyster exports. However, the industry's comparative advantage relative to target markets lacks statistical significance in driving export flows, although it contributes to sustained trade growth over time. Challenges including unregulated expansion and excessive cultivation intensity, resulting in quality deterioration, constrain export potential. The study proposes optimizing cultivation practices, enhancing product value, and diversifying international markets to strengthen the competitiveness of China's oyster industry. These findings provide a foundation for the sustainable development of the industry.
