Effects of host plant on susceptibility to deltamethrin and detoxication enzymes of Heliothis armigera (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

摘要: Effects of host plants on the susceptibility to deltamethrin and activities of detoxication enzymes of Heliothis armigera (Hubner) were studied by bioassay and biochemical methods. Results showed that the susceptibility levels to deltamethrin of the larvae fed separately on 5 different diets were substantially different. The ratio of maximum to minimum LD(50)s for deltamethrin on different diets was approximate to 60-fold. All the larvae possessed 17 free amino acids; of these, glutamate, glycine and arginine were main components. The activity levels of alpha-naphthylacetate esterase and aid-in epoxidase in test larvae corresponded with the response to deltamethrin. We suggest that alpha-naphthylacetate esterase and aid-in epoxidase are important in the metabolism of external substances during the development of H. armigera, and that induction of these enzymes can affect responses to deltamethrin.
