Design, synthesis of novel unsymmetrical and NIR-emissive BF2 complexes and application in hydrazine detection

摘要: We report a facile synthetic route towards novel unsymmetrical and NIR-emissive BF2 complexes (PPAB1-Cy1, PPAB1-Cy2 and PPAB1-Cy3) from diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) as a starting material. The outstanding character such as high molar extinction coefficient (up to 1.31*105 M-1cm-1), large Stokes shift and high fluorescence quantum yield was obtained. Moreover, PPAB1-Cy1 showed highly efficient detection towards hydrazine, leading to excellent sensing performances (a low limit of detection of 4.53 nM, fast response, good selectivity, and dual colormetric/ratiometic fluorescence signals). The sensing mechanism revealed that hydrazine-triggered elimination of acrylonitrile group, multiple B-N detachment and hydrolysis of C--N would synergistically occur between PPAB1-Cy1 and hydrazine, leading to less conjugated products. Furthermore, PPAB1-Cy1 could detect hydrazine content in real samples (soil, lake water and tap water) with good recovery rate. The quantitative detection and analysis of hydrazine vapor/solution or hydrazine contaminated sandy soil with PPAB1-Cy1 loaded filter paper, sponge, or silica gel via a smartphone application.
