摘要: CONTEXT: Nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P) and potassium (K) are essential nutrient elements for food production. However, the poor management of these nutrients in soils, manures, and synthetic fertilizers has contributed to significant environmental pollution and depletion of natural resources, worldwide. OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated how integrated nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) management-combining soil nutrients, manure recycling, and synthetic fertilizers-affects synthetic fertilizer demand and nutrient losses in China's crop-livestock systems, with a focus on optimizing nutrient use efficiency and minimizing environmental impacts. METHODS: We considered manure nutrient allocation over various soil-crop systems at the county level under integrated nutrient management, i.e., balanced NPK fertilization, improved manure recycling, using a linear programming model and scenario analysis. Two ecologically contrasting regions were examined, North China and Yangtze River Economic Belt, which produce food for half a billion people.
