Comparative Analysis of Genetic Potential of Newly Developed Corn Verities Under Different Climatic Conditions

摘要: In the present study, a total of 8 maize cultivars, which have been specifically bred for their ability to withstand drought and were developed in different years, were utilized. These cultivars were Jingnongke728, Xianyu335, Xundan20, Zhengdan958, Jingke968, Nongda108, Yedan13, and Danyu13. The findings of the present study revealed that Jingnongke728, Jingke968, and Xundan20 exhibited the highest level of tolerance compared to other cultivars, as indicated by Y.S.I and RDIn measurements. The Y.S.I and RDIn indices also indicate that the corn cultivars Danyu13 and Zhengdan958 were the least tolerant. The MP, STI, YI, GMP, S.S.P.I., K.1.STI, K.2.STI, S.S.I., and TL indices indicated that Zhengdan958, Nongda108, and Yedan13 were the most relatively tolerant corn cultivars. The S.S.I. indices of drought tolerance explored that Jingke968 and Xianyu335 exhibited the least relative tolerance. The results of the tolerance to drought, as measured by the leaf temperature (TL), indicated that the cultivars Jingke968 and Jingnongke728 were the least tolerant. Strongest positive link between quantitative measures of drought tolerance was observed in Yp and MP, as well as between Ys and YI. However, Ys and YI, along with other quantitative indices of drought tolerance, indicated that there was a stronger negative relation between S.S.I. and yield under drought conditions compared to normal conditions. The experiment revealed a significant positive correlation between the yield of maize cultivars under stress conditions compared to normal conditions and several indices such as MP, STI, TL, GMP, RDIn, YI, Y.S.I, DI, S.S.P.I., K.1.STI, and K.2.STI. Furthermore, there was positive correlation between the yield under normal conditions and various stress condition indices such as GMP, TL, MP, STI, RDIn, DI, YI, Y.S.I., S.S.P.I., K.1.STI, and K.2.STI. Ys and Yp showed that indices were efficient in identifying high-yielding corn varieties under both stress and normal situations.
