摘要: Vibriosis poses a significant threat to marine aquaculture species, including tongue sole ( Cynoglossus semilaevis), where outbreaks can lead to mass mortalities and severe economic losses. This study aimed to elucidate the genetic basis of resistance to vibriosis in tongue sole by integrating genome-wide association study (GWAS) and transcriptome analysis. A significant quantitative trait locus (QTL) on chromosome 14 (123Kb region) associated with vibriosis resistance was identified, harboring 142 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Among the candidate genes within this QTL, the jam2a gene was significantly upregulated in liver and spleen of infected fish, suggesting its crucial roles in conferring disease resistance to vibriosis. Notably, seven desirable homozygous genotypes within the jam2a gene were found to be highly prevalent in surviving individuals, indicating their potential as valuable markers for selective breeding programs aimed at enhancing disease resistance. While the identified QTL explains 3 % of the genetic variance, it underscores the polygenic nature of vibriosis resistance, suggesting that further studies are needed to identify additional contributing loci. Anyway, these findings provide a foundation for future development of disease-resistant strains in tongue sole and contribute to a deeper understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying resistance to vibriosis in aquaculture species.
