Research on the Influence Factors of Ultrasonic Measurement System of Tree Canopy Volume

摘要: Measurement of tree canopy volume can provide important reference for variable rate spraying, so a new measurement method of canopy volume was designed and an automatic measurement system of canopy volume based on the ultrasonic sensors was developed. The principle of canopy volume measurement was that the tree canopy volume was defined as the sum of six column volumes. The measurement system was composed of ultrasonic sensors, single chip unit, step motor, guide rail, mast, and portable computer. Experimental result showed that the measurement results of canopy volumes weren't influenced by the relative velocity between the ultrasonic sensors and the experimental objects significantly, and the measurement results were influenced by the wind direction significantly while weren't influenced by the wind velocity significantly.
