STUDY ON EXTRACTION AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF FLAVONOIDS FROM Cynomorium songaricum R u p r.

摘要: Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to predict optimum conditions for extraction of flavonoids from Cynomorium songaricum R u p r. A central composite design was used to monitor the effect of extraction temperature, extraction time, ratio of water to raw material on yield of total flavanoids. The optimum extraction conditions were obtained as ratio of water to raw material of 30:1, extraction temperature of 86 degrees C and extraction time of 2.5 h. The results showed that the experimental values of 27.12% were consistent with the predictive values. The antioxidant experimental results showed the DPPH radical scavenging activity increased with the flavonoids concentration until a maximum value of 89.06% at 0.006 mg/ml and the maximum scavenging rate of ascorbic acid could reach 89.04% at 0.006 mg/ml. The hydroxyl radical scavenging activity increased significantly in a concentration-dependent way at the flavanoids concentration range of 0.1-0.4 mg/ml, and achieved maximum scavenging activity of 20.48% at 0.4 mg/ml, the maximum scavenging activity of ascorbic acid was 91.71% at 0.5 mg/ml, which indicated that flavonoids of C. songaricum had a strong DPPH radical scavenging ability compared with the positive control V-C, and hydroxyl radical scavenging ability was much weaker than the positive control V-C. The extraction method was applied successfully to extract total flavonoids from C. songaricum.
