Gene Pyramiding Optimal Design Breeding in Animals Using Evolutionary Computation

摘要: Be inspired by the science of evolutionary computation, the present study investigate( how to design the superior trait through gene pyramiding which involved selecting and combining favorite target alleles into a single genotype. Two selection strategies were investigated an compared over nine generations. Examples were given for four target genes to investigate various gene pyramiding breeding schemes. The results indicated that gene pyramiding breeding process was greatly affected by the selection strategies, and the target genes with larger heritability were pyramided at the earlier generation using model I. The results also indicated that phenotypic selection using model II tended to select individuals with superior values responds to the several different genotype combinations.
