Response of rectal temperature of broiler chickens to thermal environment factors

摘要: The effect of heat exposure duration, circadian rhythm, and thermal environment conditions (constant or cyclic) on rectal temperature (RT) were evaluated with broiler chickens in four experiments. The circadian rhythm of RT was attenuated in broiler chickens reared under thermoneutral environment, continuous illumination and unlimited feed consumption. The results showed that a new thermal balance might be achieved within a few hours after exposure to acute heat stress within the current experimental conditions. The model of thermal exposure such as cyclic and constant has, a significant influence on the thermoregulation response.
