Monitoring national food security using satellite remote sensing

摘要: In a country that feeds 22 per cent of the world's population with only 7 per cent of the world's arable land, grain security stands at the top of the government's agenda. A food security warning system is needed to guarantee national grain supply. An agricultural condition monitoring system using remote sensing was developed to collect timely, reliable grain production information at a national scale to support national food security warning. The development and application of the monitoring system was introduced in this paper.
