An electrochemical sensor based on SnS2/CESM for selective detection of maleic hydrazide

摘要: Since exogenous plant hormones are often employed in agriculture, it is necessary to build a sensitive electrochemical sensor to monitor their residues. This paper describes a flower-like tin disulfide (SnS2) flakes using a hydrothermal method, was loaded onto a carbonized eggshell membrane (CESM). The SnS2/CESM composite was subsequently drop-coated onto a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), resulting in the successful construction of an electrochemical sensor (SnS2/CESM/GCE) for the detection of maleic hydrazide (MH). The designed sensor demonstrates a wide linear range of 0.1-25 mu M and 25-200 mu M, and a low detection limit of 0.0386 mu M. Mechanistic studies indicates the electrochemical reaction of MH on SnS2/CESM/GCE is controlled by adsorption, which two protons and two electrons are participated in the electrochemical oxidation process. The proposed sensor demonstrated good repeatability and reproducibility, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 3.83 % and 2.39 %, respectively. Common interferences had no effect on the detection of MH, with an RSD of 3.16 %. The spiking recovery approach yielded recoveries of MH in tobacco ranging from 94.60 % to 107.60 %. This suggests that the SnS2/CESM/GCE sensor has a promising future in agriculture for the quick detection of exogenous phytohormones.
