Distribution characteristics and law of negative air ions in typical garden flora areas of Beijing

摘要: By using the ITC-201A intelligent portable negative air ion detector, the concentration of air anions was detected at typical sites with garden flora in Beijing, such as Xiangshan Park, the Summer Palace, Beijing Botanical Garden and the downtown area. The spatial and dynamic change pattern was analyzed. The results showed that the presence of garden flora can significantly increase the concentration of air anions. The concentrations of air anions in areas with garden flora were three and ten times higher than that in areas without garden flora, in clearings and downtown, respectively. The annual average value was sorted in descending order as Xiangshan Park (630.25 pc./cm(3)), Beijing Botanical Garden (502.49 pc./cm(3)), the Summer Palace (414.68 pc./cm(3)), clearings (170.50 pc./cm(3)), and downtown (45.08 pc./cm(3)). The seasonal variation of air anions was significant in different biotopes, with autumn, summer, spring and winter having the most to the least variation, while the monthly variation curves generally showed similar characteristics - a single peak curve. The maximum value appeared in September between 9:00 and 15:00 in the daytime. The larger values appeared at 9:00 and 15:00 in the daytime, and the emergency time of the minimum varied but was generally approximately 19:00. The concentration of air anions decreased with the increase of the vertical distance from the ground. A single-peak variation trend emerged with the mountain altitude. Among the environmental impact factors, the relative humidity and the temperature were primary, and the wind speed and the canopy density were relatively minor. In this paper, we assessed the air quality of each observation area according to the concentration distribution of air anions and showed that garden floral areas are more suitable for leisure and fitness activities. These results can provide a theoretical foundation for the development and utilization of air anion resources in the city of Beijing for recreation and travel as well as guidance for the planning and construction of recreation gardens in urban landscaping.
