摘要: The quick expansion of asparagus production in China was stimulated by the increase in the international trade of asparagus. With the improvement of national economy, the domestic demand has increased recently, resulting more planting of this crop. It has become an important crop in some regions because of its economic value. Hybrid varieties are becoming accepted. The quality of the product and green food farming and organic agriculture practices are getting more attention. The national standard of asparagus product has been issued as guide for the marketing of spears. Research programs are mainly regional and involve the aspects of cultivation, breeding, biotechnology, disease control and medical use.
