New record of the stingless bee Tetragonula gressitti (Sakagami, 1978) in Southwest China (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Meliponini)

摘要： The stingless bee, Tetragonula gressitti (Sakagami, 1978), was firstly identified from South of Vietnam in 1978, and later on discovered in east India in 2013. We report the first discovery of T. gressitti in the tropical area of southwest China. So far, only few studies have focused on this species, further studies on the distribution of T. gressitti in southeast Asia and their adaptation to the environment are urgently needed. Their ecological benefits and disadvantages need to be evaluated as well.
