摘要: Fouling organisms affect scallop culture in various ways. The settlement of fouling organisms on nets or cages can restrict water flow to a point where food availability and growth of scallops are negatively affected (Claereboudt et al. 1994; Lodeiros and Himmelman 1996; Taylor et al. 1997; Ross et al. 2002). Moreover, because many foulers are sedentary filter feeders, they may compete for food resources with cultured scallops (MacDonald and Thompson 1985; Wallace and Reinsnes 1985; Claereboudt et al. 1994; Su et al. 2008).
