摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the nutritional value and health level of aquatic animal diets in different waters and to provide new insights into species-specific physiological adaptation mechanisms. Over the course of 60 days in Alar, Xinjiang, three bulk aquaculture species, Cyprinus carpio, Carassius auratus, and Ctenopharyngodon idellus, and the endemic Triplophysa yarkandensis were cultured in saline-alkali water, with muscle samples collected every 30 days for comparative analysis. The results revealed that the water content in the muscles of C. carpio, C. auratus, and C. idellus ranged from 75.32 % to 76.13 %, which was significantly greater than that of T. yarkandensis at 70.34 % (P < 0.05). However, the crude protein content was lower for the bulk species (17.79-22.35 %) than for T. yarkandensis (24.92 %, P < 0.05). The total amino acid (TAA) and essential amino acid (EAA) contents were greater in the bulk samples (TAA: 83.34-91.13 %; EAA: 35.87-37.50 %) than in the T. yarkandensis samples (79.37 % and 33.11 %, respectively, P < 0.05). The fat composition indicated high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). The micronutrients included Fe, Mn, Zn, and Se, with C. auratus showing the highest Fe content and T. yarkandensis showing the highest Zn content. These findings underscore the dual ecological and economic potential of saline-alkali water aquaculture-bulk species demonstrated robust nutritional retention under saline stress, whereas endemic species exhibited unique protein and micronutrient advantages. This study supports the repurposing of waste saline-alkali water resources for aquaculture as a critical strategy to increase food security, mitigate land degradation, and promote climate-resilient fisheries in arid regions.
