摘要: Actinidia eriantha Benth (kiwifruit) originated in south China. Although most A. eriantha fruit found in the wild are small and too acidic for commercialization, it attracts market for the high content of vitamin C, peelable skins, prolifically flower ability and wide adaptability. In this article the development of the Actinidia eriantha Benth. in south China were reviewed, which includes breeding ways and selection, tissue culture, gene cloning and some compounds isolated and identified from A. eriantha. A good cultivar will be the first start. 'Shanong No. 18', 'Anzhangmaohua No. 2' and 'White' were selected from the wild. A. eriantha 'White' has been registered in China. The hybridization will be the main breeding way for A. eriantha in the near future, no matter how many of A. eriantha in the wild. The interspecific hybridization between A. deliciosa and A. eriantha, A. chinensis cv. and A. eriantha are good examples. In tissue culture part the protoplast culture, embryo rescue for the hybrid seedlings, calli culture from stem segments and seedling hypocotyls and the leave culture of 'White' were introduced. In gene cloning part two genes about mechanism of Vc accumulation which were cloned from fruit of A. eriantha were reviewed. The roots of A. eriantha have been used for therapy of cancer and some illness in the Chinese herb traditional medicine, so the research on this part also is introduced in this review.
