摘要: Cadmium (Cd), a typical marine pollutant with a long half-life, is effectively monitored using bivalves as indicator organisms. Cd enters bivalves through their filter-feeding behavior. Research on Cd accumulation capacity in different bivalve tissues and their toxicological effects is of significant interest. However, recent research on the effects of Cd in bivalves has not been systematically summarized. Therefore, this study presents a detailed and comprehensive review of the research results on the sources, determination methods and safety assessment of Cd in bivalves. Additionally, it discusses strategies for controlling Cd levels in bivalves and provides an outlook for future research directions. The ultimate goal is to improve the safety of bivalves as a food source and to promote the sustainable development of bivalve aquaculture.
