摘要: Pollen tube behavior in the style following the hybridization between apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) and almond (Prunus amygdalus Batsch.) was observed by using fluorescence microscopy. The results showed that a little pollen of almond can germinate on the pistil of apricot; very few pollen tubes can reach the basal part of the style and finally arrive at the ovule in ovary. The result also showed that the number of pollen tube in the middle part of style decreased, only a few pollen tube can reach the basal part of the style and finally arrive at the ovule in ovary; several abnormalities during pollen tubes elongation were observed including pollen tubes with swollen or pointed tips, breakage, superposition in the middle parts, and callose accumulation. The incompatibility and rejection responses on stigma are stronger than inside of style. Therefore, pollination at earlier time may help to improve hybridization between apricot and almond.
