Some Factors Influencing Greenhouse Apricot Production in Beijing

摘要: Greenhouse tree fruits production is becoming a profitable industry for growers in suburb of Beijing. As to greenhouse apricot culture, growers should carefully select proper cultivars in order to supply for the early market. Although apricot cultivars such as 'Luotuohuang', 'Hongjinzhen', 'Huluxing' and 'Yinbaixing' (Prunus armeniaca L) are satisfactory for greenhouse growing, proper pollenisers must be planted in the block because of their selfincompatible properties. 820-1000 hours of chilling is needed to break dormancy of these cultivars. It is strongly recommended that the appropriate temperature for full blooming is 22-25 V in daytime and not lower than 8 V at night. Hanging on the back wall or paving the land with argentea is helpful to improve the solar condition of the greenhouse and consequently improve fruit quality. Meanwhile, supplement of CO2 gas by adding more organic fertilizer may increase the CO2 concentration in the greenhouse for a certain degree. Mason bees and bumble bees are required for optimum pollination. Summer pruning in due time is effective in controlling tree size and increasing flower buds.
