摘要: Tea pest forecasting is a complicated process and requires a high expertise. Any attempt of developing a web-based system dealing with tea pest forecasting has to overcome various difficulties. A web-based system for tea pest forecasting in southern of china was developed with the aim of improving efficiency for scientific researchers, manager and growers. The definition of forecasting included pest occurrence level (low, moderate or high) and probability. The system was evaluated following the conventional software testing methodologies. According to the validation results the system was considered very satisfactory with a whole successful rate 70.8%. The results indicate that this approach can be applied for providing an integrated, flexible and user-friendly ES (Expert System) environment for producing better quality of results in less forecast time. And this system could be recommended as a potentially valuable decision support tool for growers, technicians and teaching staffs. At present the system is in pilot in south of China. At the same time, by using this system, the research spending of related departments was decreased, the data is centralized, and the system can also be improved through the integration of additional modules to realize the early warning of insect pests.
