Cloning and Analysis of a Gene Related to Flowering from Early-breeding Walnut (Juglans regia L.) in Xinjiang

摘要: LFY, an important gene to regulate flowering, plays a key role in the flower development of plants. JrLFY (Accession No.: JF520778), a homologue gene, was cloned from walnut by RT-PCR and RACE. The cDNA sequence was 1472bp and had 1155bp of an open reading frame which encodes 385aa amino acids. The DNA sequence was 2865bp long with three exons and two introns, and was similar to other LFY family homologue genes' structures. The gene's nucleic-acid shares 96%, 79% and 73% of identity respectively with LFY homology gene of Carya cathayensis (DQ989225.1), Castanea mollissima (DQ270548) and other homology genes. So, this gene obtained has highly identity with other plants. The cloned JrLFY gene may be applied to genetic engineering aiming for regulating the flowering time in Juglans regia L..
